Q: Why do you only sell Pioneer Hi-Bred Seeds?
That’s an easy one. Pioneer Hi-Bred offers leading genetics in many crops: canola, corn, soybeans, sunflowers, and alfalfa. Pioneer Hi-Bred also continues to lead the way in developing new technology. Pioneer Hi-Bred led the way with the increase of field tolerance to sclerotinia and the resistance to clubroot in canola.
Q: What is the best variety of seed for my operation?
This is a question I can best answer when we sit down and discuss your operation needs and limitations. We can choose the right way to go, even if it doesn’t include a Pioneer Hi-Bred product.
Q: How do your canola hybrids compare to others on the market?
Pioneer Hi-Bred breeding program has developed canola varieties that have taken RR canola and Clearfield systems to the highest level in the canola industry: increased yield, oil content, disease resistance, and improved agronomics.
Q: What types of incentives are offered for farmers with large orders?
I treat every customer the same whether they purchase one bag of seed or 110 bags of seed. That being said, Pioneer Hi-Bred has great pricing programs. Our quantity savings program is a great tool for larger orders, and best of all is that the program allows you to combine all Pioneer Hi-Bred products.
Q: When I purchase my seed, will it be delivered to my farm?
Derek Erb Seeds Inc. staff can make arrangements with you to deliver your seed before or during your seeding season. With one phone call to 204.792.6744, you can also arrange pick up at our convenient location at the corner of Hwy # 2 and Hwy # 3 in Oak Bluff, Manitoba.

Q: I see that I can buy Pioneer Canola at some independent retails and Viterra. Why buy from Derek Erb Seeds Inc. (Pioneer Hi-Bred Sales Representative) rather than buy Pioneer Hi-Bred products from another retail detailer in my area? Is it the same product as yours and which is the best place to buy?
One thing that can be taken away from the availability of Pioneer Hi-Bred Canola from an independent retailer and Viterra, is truly how great their Breeding Program is to have the ability to have that many new varieties on the market. However, to that Derek Erb Seeds Inc. has exclusive access to Pioneer Hi-Bred’s leading varieties such as 45H26, 45H73 and two new varieties 45H28 (103% yield and 2-3% higher oil than 45H26) and 45S51 (the industries first canola with higher field tolerance to sclerotinia). Derek Erb Seeds Inc. is able to offer you many pricing and discount options not available from other independent retailers, not to mention we can offer you access to Pioneer Hi-Bred’s other products (Corn, Soybeans, Alfalfa and Sunflowers), whereas you cannot purchase these products from an independent retailer.

The varieties listed and detailed in the product section on our website are the most common varieties grown in our area. This list doesn’t include all the varieties of products which I am able to offer you. Q: Do you grow Pioneer products on your farm?
Yes. I wouldn’t sell products I don’t have confidence to grow on my own farm. I am not just selling seed to “customers”. My customers are my neighbours, my friends, and my community. I have vested interest in every bag of seed I sell. I want every acre of Pioneer Hi-Bred seed that comes from Derek Erb Seeds Inc. to perform to its' best potential.
Q: Why should I buy seed from Derek Erb Seeds Inc?
Derek Erb Seeds Inc. has the support of a global leader in the seed industry. Pioneer Hi-Bred has enormous resources from which to utilize sales support, agronomics and grower financing. Derek Erb Seeds Inc. is not connected to any outside influences. We only sell products on their genetics, quality and fit for your operation. As a Farmer myself, I found it easier to purchase my seed from a dealer whom I am not obligated to for other inputs such as fertilizer or grain delivering.
