Soybean King

February 15, 2011

On February 15, 2011 over 500 growers got a chance to hear Kip Cullers the "Soybean King" talk in Morris, MB courtesy of Pioneer Hi-Bred and Derek Erb Seeds.

It was a huge success; Kip explained how he was able to achieve 160 bus/ac soybeans. Of course many of the things that he does on his competition fields in Southern Missouri do not apply to a grower in Southern Manitoba. The important message is - don't keep doing the same old things and expect different results. Some of the things that work on his competition fields he applies to his commercial fields which average 100 bus/ac. So try different things on your farm to increase your yields.

2011 Grower Meeting

December 3, 2010

A Grower Meeting was held at Bridges in Starbuck on December 3, 2010. Derek Erb Seeds, along with Pioneer Hi-Bred area Agronomist Wilt Billing and Pioneer's Scott Macintosh delivered information to local producers on our canola, corn and soybean products.

The highlight of the meeting was Brent Reid from MAFRI who was there to discuss results from his soybean plant population, row spacing and seed placement trials. As usual, Derek Erb Seeds was way ahead of the competition bringing important information to growers. Dwight from BASF was on hand to give us an update on Headline, Heat and everything Clearfield.

Thanks to the more than 50 growers who were able to attend. We hope the information was valuable and we look forward to bringing more guest speakers to you in the future.
